Hi, I’m christine D. Fazio

I am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in individual psychotherapy with adults with offices in both Greenpoint, Brooklyn and Union Square, NYC. I provide virtual psychotherapy as well.  I am licensed in both New York and New Jersey. I am a long-time practitioner with over 12 years of experience, a clinical supervisor and assistant professor of counseling. I have extensive training in psychodynamic therapy and have honed my particular therapeutic style which dovetails who I am as a person and who I am as a clinician.

My Approach: Relational, Experiential, Somatic and Psychodynamic.

Many of the people I work with are adults who appear “fine” on the outside but feel stuck internally. We work with the past, present and therapeutic relationship to find the roots of your experiences. We focus on depth, insight and connecting what you know to how you feel.

If you notice - Repeating patterns in romantic relationships, peer relationships or work satisfaction; Anxiety that feels persistent; Loneliness, aloneness and stuck-ness that feels like part of you; Difficulty trusting or feeling emotionally close; Cycles of self-criticism or perfectionism

Or simply a deep sense of emptiness…. we may work well together.

This work is not about surface-level coping. It is depth-oriented therapy designed to create lasting emotional change. Working from this perspective seeks a transformative experience with how you relate to yourself, others and the world.

I do not know what you may need to hear to reach out, but I promise I wish to know and understand the unique experiences that comprise your life.

My Office / Telehealth Sessions:

Therapy in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

My office is located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn as well as in Union Square, NYC. I also provide secure virtual therapy across New York and New Jersey.

Brooklyn and NYC are home to many creative professionals, entrepreneurs, and thoughtful adults navigating complex relational and professional lives. Therapy can offer a steady space to reflect, recalibrate, and grow.

Why Psychodynamic Therapy?

Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand not just what is happening, but why. Often when we try to change behaviors, or our emotional reactions, we only try to intervene on the symptom, but without the context and the knowing…we often feel like we are white knuckling change and ultimately return to the same experience. Experience WITH a felt sense of knowing combined with addressing the symptom, ultimately leads us towards making new choices and having new experiences. Many forms of treatments and interventions skip this step, leaving folks feeling stuck.

If you are looking for a therapist in Brooklyn who values depth, reflection, and meaningful change, this work may be a strong fit.
